My name is Rocio Bomberg and I am the Spanish/Gardening teacher here at the School at Mission Springs. I have had over eight years experience in gardening and have spent a four and a half years teaching gardening at this school. Here in San Antonio, I have been certified as a Bexar County Master Gardener and Master Naturalist. My gardening experience also includes a substantial amount of volunteer work at several places including Frederick Wilderness Park, the Children’s Garden at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, and at a local Montessori school.
As for my experience in teaching languages, I have received a BA from the University of Denver in Colorado where I majored in French with a minor in Spanish Literature and Italian. In addition, I have also had college level training in Bilingual Education and have taught Spanish in both Denver and Corpus Christi, TX. When I am not teaching, I am kept busy by my wonderful family. During my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, swimming, and traveling as my family and I take frequent trips to Mexico City (my hometown), Uruguay in South America (my mother’s birthplace) and to Europe, which is just a great place to go. My hope for my students is to instill in them a clear understanding of the garden and of their environment. I am also quite passionate about providing the kids with a strong grasp of the Spanish Language that will hopefully aid them throughout their entire lives.
